It is the people who must make their leader change
What a visionary and wondeful woman, and at that a KENYAN. Upon reflection of such visionary and prophetic words she spoke on her film just released - "It is the people who must make their leaders change. So we must stand up for what we believe in. And we cannot be intimidated." — from the film TAKING ROOT.

I have to say that when I was watching the FILM, it brought tears to eyes when I saw what the so called "weaker sex", our noble and powerful women suffered at the brutality of the government at Uhuru park. What government can be so bad as to drive an Afrikan woman to strip (An automatic curse in African culture)??.

I say in the words of the name of the film, Kenyans need to take root and make their leaders change. Freedom comes with a price, and it involves people.Yes, our leaders have a right to be wrong as all men should. However, Freedom is the right to be wrong but NOT to do wrong. No one is above the LAW, even God himself - Exodus 32:13-16. If the creater of heaven and earth could apologize to mere mortals, and right his wrongful thinking. Who is man, that he should think he will escape his wrong.

My fellow Kenyans, take heart. God will appoint us a judge (Judges 2:18). Lets keep crying, God will deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, albeit our own government, all the days of the judge. God hears our groanings by reason of them that continue to oppress us and vex us.

Oh, and on the issue of gender equality and the place of our women in the building of our nation, well, their payment is long over due. Too much blood and sacrifice has been given by then, yes, by all our women in the struggle for a better nation. We men, owe them a safe and prosperous and God fearing nation. As we decry the insurbodination of women in our culture, we should decry even more the totalitarian and bancrupt intergrity of our present leaders. A very wise man by the name of the Son of Sirach said this about women....

Ecclesiasticus 26:23. As golden pillars upon bases of silver, so are the firm feet upon the soles of a steady woman. Such is our women especially Prof. Wangari Maathai, and we should never forget it.....
