WE, the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), founded and working in the Republic of Kenya and, inclusive of social movements, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Trusts, organizations by, of and for the children, youth, women, persons with disability, working persons through their labour movements and congresses, the ethno-regionally marginalized, pastoralists, agricultural communities, small scale business persons, street vendors and communities, senior citizens, Community Based Organizations,

People Groups (including forest dwellers) and institutions; and, whose authority and acquiescence are self evident in the signatures and accession instruments to this Charter:

GUIDED by our common vision of a democratic, prosperous, just and equitable Kenya and Society obtaining within it;

GALVANIZED by the need to provide a solidarity platform for all Civil Society actors to be secure, interact, harmonize and synchronize their interventions on key national, regional and international issues;

DETERMINED to dialogue and interrogate the multifaceted challenges that have continued to inhibit robust development, work and solidarity by and within the Civil Society sector in Kenya and the African continent;

FURTHER DETERMINED to foster and strengthen sustainable solidarity within the Civil Society and enhance internal democratic practices including transparency and accountability;
